How to Get Permanent Image Links That Never Expire

Set the expiry dropdown to "Forever" when you upload — that's the only step needed for a permanent link. PicGlobe defaults to Forever, but it's worth understanding all six options so you don't accidentally pick a short-lived one for an image you meant to keep.
The six expiry options
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Forever (default) | The link stays live indefinitely, until you delete it yourself. |
| 1 Hour | Good for temporary sharing — a link you only need someone to see once. |
| 1 Day | Useful for time-limited support tickets or short-lived previews. |
| 1 Week | Fits a sprint, a short campaign, or a week-long forum thread. |
| 1 Month | Matches a billing cycle or a monthly report. |
| 1 Year | Long-term but not permanent — useful when you plan to refresh content annually. |
Why a permanent link actually matters
A broken image link is invisible until someone clicks it — and by then the damage is done: a forum post with a missing screenshot, a product listing with a blank thumbnail, a portfolio piece that silently disappears. Choosing Forever at upload avoids this entirely, because there's no renewal step to forget and no countdown running in the background.
When you actually want a link to expire
Permanent isn't always the right choice. If you're sharing a one-time screenshot in a support chat, sending a temporary preview to a client, or posting something you'll want gone automatically, a short expiry (1 Hour or 1 Day) does the cleanup for you — no need to remember to delete it later.
How to check or change an image's expiry
- The expiry is set once, at upload time, using the "Keep for" dropdown above the upload zone.
- If you picked a shorter option by mistake, re-upload the same file and select Forever — the old, expiring link will still count down independently.
- There's no limit on file count, so re-uploading to fix an expiry setting costs nothing.
