Your Original File Is Stored As Uploaded
When you upload an image to PicGlobe, the file is saved to Cloudflare R2 exactly as it arrives. PicGlobe does not recompress it, convert its format or resize it.
What Stays In The File
Because the file is not modified, everything inside it stays there:
- Image quality — unchanged, since no recompression is applied on upload.
- File format — a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG stays a PNG.
- File size — the same as the file you uploaded, so large originals stay large. Compress them yourself first if page speed matters.
- Embedded metadata — PicGlobe does not edit the file, so do not rely on it to remove EXIF data such as GPS location or camera model. Strip it before uploading if privacy matters; see our guide to EXIF data.
Social-Size Copies Are Separate Files
PicGlobe can resize an uploaded image for ten social platforms. Each size is generated from your original and saved as a separate WebP file, so the original is never overwritten.
Storage And Delivery
Images are stored in Cloudflare R2 and delivered through Cloudflare's CDN. Each upload is stored with a one-year cache header (max-age=31536000), which lets browsers and the CDN keep a copy for repeat views.
- Original file — stored as uploaded and served from your direct link.
- Social-size copies — WebP files created from the original, one per platform.
- Link formats — direct, BBCode, HTML and Markdown links for the same stored file.
Automated Safety Screening
Uploads go through automated safety screening before they are approved. Images that cannot be cleared automatically are flagged for manual review. The Privacy Policy lists the third-party services PicGlobe uses.
